Teaching and Learning Committee
Teaching and Learning Committee advises and makes recommendations to the Academic Board and/or other University bodies or officers as appropriate on matters relating to teaching and learning and assessment in the University, including:
- means of measuring and improving the quality of teaching and learning as articulated in the University's Teaching and Learning Plan 2018-2021,
- methods to enhance and improve the student learning experience, including the physical and virtual environment,
- means of encouraging and rewarding high quality teaching and learning, and
- matters arising through liaison with relevant external bodies.

Terms of reference
The role of the Teaching and Learning Committee is to:
- to advise and make recommendations to the Academic Board and/or other University bodies or officers as appropriate on:
- matters relating to teaching and learning and assessment in the University, including means of measuring and improving the quality of teaching and learning as articulated in the University’s Teaching and Learning Plan 2018-2021;
- methods to enhance and improve the student learning experience, including the physical and virtual environment;
- means of encouraging and rewarding high quality teaching and learning; and
- matters arising through liaison with relevant external bodies.
- to advise the Academic Board on any issue or policy brought to it by officers of the University (e.g. Institute for Teaching and Learning Innovation);
- to consider nominations for the Awards for Teaching Excellence, the Awards for Programs that Enhance Learning and the Citations for Outstanding Contributions to Student Learning and to periodically review the procedures for the awards.
