Voting Now Open: Election of Students to the Academic Board

Eligible students are invited to vote in the election of students to the Academic Board for 2018.

Voting process

In accordance with the approved Academic Board election timetable, electronic voting to elect student members to the Board will open at 9:00 am on Tuesday, 3 October 2017 and close at 9:00 am on Tuesday, 10 October 2017. You will be able to cast your vote by clicking the ballot paper button below, using your student login details:

Voting eligibility

Students may vote only in the class of membership to which they belong; for example, undergraduate students may vote only for undergraduate students.

Please note that, in accordance with the Academic Board Policy, students who are also members of the professorial or non-professorial teaching or research staff (employed under a contract with a term of employment of 12 months or more requiring at least 18 hours of work each week at Level A or above) are not eligible to vote in the election of students to the Board.  Such individuals are instead able to vote for the election of staff representatives to the Academic Board.

Voting outcome

Votes will be counted on Tuesday, 10 October 2017.  All candidates will be notified shortly thereafter and the results will be posted on the Academic Board website and on my.UQ.

About the Academic Board

The Academic Board is the University’s principal academic adviser to the Senate and the Vice-Chancellor.  The Board formulates policy on matters such as new programs, teaching, learning and assessment, research, promotions, special studies programs, prizes and scholarships.  You can visit the Academic Board website for more information.
