Academic Review and Recruitment Committee
Academic Review and Recruitment Committee oversees the Academic Board review of schools, institutes and supervisory centres, and supports academic recruitment. The Committee will commence operations from 2026.

Terms of reference
The role of the Academic Review and Recruitment Committee is to:
- Conduct the review process for schools, institutes, supervisory centres and generalist degrees on behalf of the University.
- Recommend to the University Senior Executive Team (USET) the proposed membership of review committees, including ARRC representation.
- Consult with the Provost on the review schedule, including the presentation of review reports to USET and the oversight of implementation reports.
- Participate on selection committees for academic recruitment and hiring processes in accordance with the Recruitment, Selection and Appointment Procedure.
- Advise on matters referred to it by the Academic Board Executive Committee.

Composition
Ex-officio:
- President of the Academic Board (Chair)
- Deputy President of the Academic Board
Appointed:
- One representative from each faculty from the Academic Board, nominated by the executive dean (for a two-year term)
- One representative from a university- or faculty-level institute from the Academic Board, nominated by the Provost in consultation with the University Senior Executive Team (USET) Institute Director representative
Elected:
- Three academic staff members, employed at Level E, elected by and from the elected members of the Academic Board
Administrative arrangements
The term of appointed and elected members is two years.
Elections are conducted in accordance with the Guideline for Academic Board Committee Elections.
If the Chair is absent from any meeting of the Committee, the Deputy President will be Chair for that meeting. If both the Chair and Deputy President are absent from any meeting of the Committee, members of the Committee present at that meeting will appoint a member as Chair for that meeting.
