Mission

The Sub-Committee will escalate advice, insights and recommendations to the Teaching, Learning and Student Experience Committee (TLSEC) as appropriate and will operate within TLSEC’s delegated authority and governance arrangements, including the authority to establish working groups to deliver specific workstreams. 

Terms of Reference

The role of the Student Education Equity Sub‑Committee (SEESC) is to: 

  • Provide strategic guidance and advice on educational equity and student success initiatives across the University, with a particular focus on transition, retention, enrichment and success across the student lifecycle. 
  • Guide and support the delivery of The Queensland Commitment (TQC) educational equity objectives and actions, ensuring alignment with institutional priorities, academic strategy and student success outcomes. 
  • Oversee and monitor implementation of the UQ Student Transition Framework, including identifying emerging issues, risks and opportunities, and advising on priorities and areas for improvement. 
  • Serve as an advisory forum to inform, coordinate and support institutional decision‑making relating to educational equity objectives, actions and outcomes, including through alignment with the Academic Literacies program of work and other intersecting institutional work.
